​Judgement is a Deathmatch map that I environmentally decorated and lit. This level was not designed nor built by myself. Originally it was meant to be an cavernous setting with the highlight being a laser beam that occasionally fired down a high-traffic section. I redesigned the map around a gothic/supernatural theme while still accomodating the pre-built focal point of the map. My personal goal was to go as far from the original decorative concept as possible while providing a fun, playable space that highlighted areas of importance.​
The concept for Judgment was that you are fighting in a temple where disciples hope to open a gate to bridge Earth with a dark realm. Warriors of light intervene to stop the ritual from being completed.
This map featured a large laser beam that occasionally fired down a high-traffic area. Through use of standard UDK meshes and materials, I changed the mining laser to a demonic gate decorated in skulls which fired the energy from it's mouth.
The other area that I emphasized through lighting and environmental decoration was the blood pool. This is another high-traffic area as it is the only location with a large health pickup. While it became an area of attention to the player, I communicated that it still had elemental hazards that they should be aware of.
